Don't we need 60 votes in the Senate.
Yes and the democratic party has a history of splintering when in power which can pose a problem for us as well. There are already issues between moderates and progressives. The need in Georgia is keep things at bay for now.

Any immigration reform is steep but without bipartisan support it becomes Everist. The fact is that one party alone without a supermajority cannot help us. If is not a bipartisan effort then it's a symbolic bill and f*ck symbolism.

That is why a bill right in the middle could possibly stand a chance. With regards to potential Dream Act, as far as I'm concerned, it HAS to have conditional permanent residency for Dreamers (hopefully the older aged out Dreamers too) and nothing short of that. On the other spectrum, it should have very strong border security provision, fines, requirement to pay all back taxes, background check etc. This should be a no brainer. DACA recipients have already met all these conditions. The only one that will be tough is border security. Like you said, we should budget for about 6-8 Dems not voting in favor.

Most of the people I know who are in the same situation don't care about citizenship, permanent residency, or anything like that. We would be happy with daca enshrined into law so it is hard to revoke it. I want my ability to work protected and in 5 years, I retire to the islands.

I used to want to be a US Citizen. Now even given the chance I don't think I would. Just give me permanent residency and the ability to travel outside the US and I'm good. Probably spend most of my time away from US anyways.

And you're a punkass who doesn't want DACA recipients to be legalized. Maybe this is why you were banned during election week.

Nothing wrong with optimism since most of us are in the same boat. Dems, GOP, at the end of the day, who cares where it came from as long as there is a possible solution.

"Stay tuned." You sound like a dumbass news pundit.

Wake the hell up and get with the times. Congress is planning on giving primarily US Citizens $600 in COVID relief after months and months have passed since the last support that went out (which was pretty miserable to begin with) and it pains them to think of the idea that more support money or even support services could go to their own citizens in these times. Cause: Politics.

Did you also forget the 2018-2019 Government Shutdown when congress didn't give a fuck about federal employees for an almost record breaking amount of time? Cause: Politics.

They don't give a shit about US Citizens and less about us and with Senate the way it is and the way Republicans are lead, you'd be more realistic to have a pessimistic view then an optimistic view. Biden coming into office will not cause any healing or both sides to magically come together. Stop being naive and start begin more cynical.
