Pretty sure you don't get anything special for an I-601A, only an approval notice.

yeah, you'll just get the approval on an official looking document; printed on a green-ish looking paper.

You may need send a copy of the document to the NVC, but you definitely need to bring the original document to the interview.

I looked it up online too on what it’s supposed to look like. We didn’t get the greenish looking paper. We just got a receipt saying it was approved, and that it’s a courtesy notice; not the official document...We had an RFE before though. I guess it’s sent separately then...Should I call USCIS?

So..just found the lawyer has the official notice. It sounds like she’s using it as leverage for us to pay her for the next step.

Yeah... I was afraid of that. You might need to find out what your contract with the lawyer says.

Do you intend to do the remaining process on your own? It might be a good idea to use the same lawyer until you get your GC if the price isn't too expensive.

Are you using a lawyer for the remaining process? For the next step, she’s charging $1750 since we already uploaded our documents on the NVC website. I don’t know if that’s considered expensive. We were planning just doing the visa part on our own and then the green card process with a lawyer.

I used a lawyer but it wasn't that expensive. I think I paid around $800.

That’s a really good deal. I found quotes online for no less than $1300.
