@ Marianasauce I had a very similar situation. My advice to you is to keep calling or keep going to the office where u applied for the ssn. I applied on 10/18 and initially they told me 3-4 weeks since my info needed to be verified with immigration. After the 4 weeks had passed I kept calling n all employees kept telling me to wait. On Tuesday I called and they told me that there was some kind of mistake and to go in an apply again!! Turns out their mistake had me waiting on a ssn for six weeks!!! On Tuesday I showed all my documents and was verified on the spot. SS card should arrive in 2 weeks..

So unbelievable. They told me 4-6 weeks, but that it probably wouldn't take that long. But the fact that it supposedly went from verified to investigation is what made me upset. I'm hoping its just because it was a different office and their computers weren't updated. I'm gonna try to call the office at which I applied at to make sure I am in fact verified. I already took my written test at the dmv and all I'm waiting for is ssn to get my permit

That's crazy that they made you wait so long just to have you apply all over again. I've heard of a couple people say that. Did you wait the ten days before youvapplied? I'm thinking that may be the cause of all this... :/

I got EAC card yesterday and went straight to SSA office. I was never told anything about waiting additional time. They just handed me a receipt that says maximum 2 weeks for SSC.

When I went to apply for the social, they told me 4-6 weeks because my info needed to be verified (I went this past Monday) and I received a letter today saying I should receive it in less than 2 weeks. So it was faster than expected =).
