Great idea, I've e-mailed her before. I'll do it again, I think it would help the Dream Act get attention.

Omg I know ths sounds silly but I was thinking Oprah could really make a big difference by publisizing the issue because a lot of people have never even given the tragedy of growing up undocumented a second thought.

What I was thinking is we need someone who has been in this situation but it now legal (to prevent deportation) from somehow making it on the show, this sounds far-fatched but there has to be someone. I heard about Maria Gonzalez, she is undocumented but she is facing deportation in 2009 so she has come out openly to publisize the issue in congress ... why not oprah to get ordinary americans informed?

I agree with you, they definitely need to be anonymous or legal. We wouldn't want the plan to backfire.

I think the Oprah idea is awesome

We should come up with some message that all of us can send to her along with our stories.
And why not send it to other people like Tyra Banks. She's pretty open about these things too!

Emails are okay. But what we need is video's of our stories. We need to mail it to her. "The Dream Act: Give us a chance" that should be our heading. I've been thinking about oprah for a long time, and I emailed her once. And I got the same email saying that she had tons of emails. But I think if a lot of us got together and sent her our stories it would be catch her attention.

I doubt Oprah will openly support immigration reform.
She's got fans from all angles, and she can't risk losing viewers right now.
The ratings for her show have been declining.

It could work if she got behind our cause the way she got behind the child predators thing.
But it's highly unlikely.
