11/17: case status changed to document mailed but not sure if that approval. Have not got the actual document.
humanitarian reason to visit sick relative.

I applied 9/21, for educational purposes.
Still waiting for approval? I hope I hear something soon.
When is your intended trip scheduled and did you ask them to expedite your application?

Peaking at cases ive seen NUNEROUS cases get RFE or denied. Your case has to be strong with legit evidence

Apply right away. Hopefully you get approved in time. Only leave if you can come back before the inauguration date.
