If the repubs are floating some fucking bullshit extension as some half assed attempt, then they only deserve a half assed attempt in return.

Dems, you failed us already...so now just hold your ground...and don't give them any wall money, UNLESS THEY GIVE DREAM ACT OR AN EQUIVALENT!!!
Dream Act or Dreamer Protection or Daca extended whatever you wish to call it for all childhood arrivals including aged out Dreamers. No DreamAct, then no $$ for the wall.

It is going to be a mess- employers, universities, cities, hospitals, do not support ripping people apart after a lifetime in the U.S!

Older Dreamers have careers, homes, FAMILIES AND PARENTS who depend on them. Cruel bastards.

Fair enough...and simple.

A reasonable Dreamer bill (Or DACA bill...whatever...) that the majority can agree on, and then give Trump some of his wall money.

He wants 25 billion? Then really have to get into the nitty gritty details of what exactly is in the Dreamer / DACA bill...not just some one time extension or just taking DACA and copy pasta it into a bill for votes and then asking for 25 billion...

I just believe that the wall money is a huge pool of leverage, and the more you give away, the less you have left, simple.

But I have seen rumors that Trump really doesn't care about a wall anyway...so ultimately...all of this is probably for naught.

And I hear ya on your arguments...and I am ready to share life jackets with you...but here is how I see it.

This whole immigration thing is a farce, it is chaotic, and it doesn't seem like it will ever go anywhere...now something that seems lame like a DACA extension as a bill sounds promising, especially when you would end up giving the arm and the leg that is 25 billion for some bullshit wall...it sounds so promising that you figure, as long as the Dems just give in, then Trump will be like "LOL YEA BABY!", and boom we get our extension, and he gets his 25 billion.

But then where are we after that extension ends? What then? Where are our supporters? Where is the whole Dreamer movement across the country? Can Dems offer 25 billion more to Trump (If he is reelected) to get him to give some more???

I don't know if I explained it too well...but that is what I am worried about.

I think what little leverage we have left if any, can possibly be used to ink a Dream Act like bill, if we are at a point in giving 25 billion fucking dollars for a stupid fucking wall.
Exactly.

Lmfao. Permanent DACA for $25 billion wall. No, baby, no. At this point it's fucking obvious Republicans are getting desperate. They know damn fucking well if they can get a wall bill passed and "save the Dreamers" then they are going to win HUGE in the upcoming elections. However, if they let this issue continue to slide, Democrats get more leverage for the upcoming elections because they can ride on Dreamer sympathy. If Republicans want $25B out of us, we get path to citizenship. Doesn't have to be instant, but I'm not going to starve just so Republicans can engorge themselves with victory. Obviously us Dreamers are a token for a wall...I'm not going to devalue my worth out of fear

Anything can still happen. What I find interesting is that the Republican party is still pushing for a fix. My theory: the GOP wants to take the issue away from the Democrats, so they do not use it in the midterm elections.

100% agree. They can’t let the democrats take a win on this also considering the hispanic vote for the GOP is at an all time low a win on dreamers will definitely help.

These Republicans are like the pharma devils that created the opiod epidemic in this country.

In preventing immigration relief for Dreamers or the undocumented population at large, they create a world in need of immigration prosecutions, incarceration, detention camps, immigration lawyers, advocacy groups, etc to justify the monster cost that is the dhs budget at expense of taxpayers.

Does the Flake proposal guarantee renewals every 3 years or is it just a one time thing? And how is that any different than what we already have in place??

This is a very unsatisfying proposition and it doesn't resolve the issue in terms of long-term. We will continue to become nothing but punching bags for these politicians for the years to come. Either all of it or none of it!
