I agree! We were given this opportunity, and I am extremely thankful (just like I was when I got into college/grad school).

The waiting is the hardest part. But if we really think about it, what is a few more days/weeks/months in comparison to years? I've been waiting for this for 22 years...yes, the wait is killing me. But I think I'll survive long enough for the approval :P

The lack of progress with some DACA cases could be due to the name check process.
FBI Name Checks—FBI name checks are also required for many applications. The FBI name check is totally different from the FBI fingerprint check. The records maintained in the FBI name check process consist of administrative, applicant, criminal, personnel and other files compiled by law enforcement. Initial responses to this check generally take about two weeks. In about 80 percent of the cases, no match is found. Of the remaining 20 percent, most are resolved within six months. Less than one percent of cases subject to an FBI name check remain pending longer than six months. Some of these cases involve complex, highly sensitive information and cannot be resolved quickly. Even after FBI has provided an initial response to USCIS concerning a match, the name check is not complete until full information is obtained and eligibility issues arising from it are resolved.

There are reportedly an alarming number of false hits caused by similar or identical or very similar names, or errors, inconsistencies or discrepencies in listed names in official documents. This is true especially in countries, such as the Latin countries, where there are only a few surnames and name-similarity is common, or record-keeping accuracy in official documents is dubious. Reportedly, approximately half of all names in the NCIC database are Latino, and this has resulted in a high number of false hits for individuals with common or very similar last names at Consulates in the Latin countries. Applicants presently are not allowed the opportunity to prove that they are not the same person as that on the database, nor is there a way to initiate security checking in advance of the visa application.

Even if you are not Latino/Hispanic, the same could be true if your country is one where there are a lot of people with similar or the same last names. So, I doubt it has anything to do with people who did walk-ins. They just happen to be in that 80% where nothing comes back on their name.

So far all my theories have been debunked after looking at timelines. It boils down to this..the individual who has our cases. Either he/she doesn't give a shit or is just incredibly busy.

If you're going nuts waiting to be approved my advice is to stop coming here and only check your case status once or twice a week. Time just flew by for me

Also, congrats to all the recent approvals. We don't have to move to WA now... although I'm still going if the legal weed thing works out lol
