I have a couple questions and just wanted to see if someone could help answer them. The first one, I received my appt. for biometrics already but not the approval I-797 letter that many people have mentioned. Most of which received it before the biometrics appt. letter. So.... my question is whether or not this is normal?
The second question, I live in Florida. I understand that we don't receive in-state tuition so would the approval of this application change that? Considering Ive lived in Florida for a really long time.

Those are not approval letters, they are mere receipts confirming that you didn't mess up and they were able to process your forms and get your sweet money. It's weird to not have received them, but they are not important. The important i-797x is the one stating that you've received deferred action which will arrive in your mailbox a few weeks or months after getting the biometric testing done.

You won't have access to in-state tuition in Florida , that could change in the future but at least you'll be able to earn more money to pay yourself through college.

Ok I understand that as of now even after DACA we won't be able to receive govt based financial aid. However private scholarships yes. I was part of this Honors program in CUNY that paid all 4years of my undergrad, regardless of immigration status. Now what I'm wondering and hoping is that with DACA and obtaining a EAD we could apply for a PhD program. Perhaps a private college's tuition remission is not considered govt financial aid and since in most PhD programs a requirement is to teach then the EAD will allow for that. Any thoughts???

Thanks for your reply. I understand what you're saying and yes, I have received the receipts. I just assumed when people were writing "Application approved" they actually meant just that. So far I have received 3 letters including the biometrics. Thanks again for your reply

Yes. We can get loans. But your credit has good be in good standing....which is why it's a good idea to open a credit account at Macy's or something as soon as you
Get DACA and slowly build credit. For large loans like tuition or something I believe you need a us citizen or permanent resident cosigner.

I've taken out student loans with out a co-signer.. However, I have impeccable credit... All of my bills have been deducted from my checking account since I've been 19..
