fuk my life; they're only holding my job until the end of the year and I've already been out a month. Yay, back to unemployment.

If I go to my local USCIS Office and try to get them to see why my case is taking so long. Will they be any of use or will it be the same thing if I just call in?

Application received: August 28, 2016
Bio: September 20, 2016

Haven't heard anything back.

Does anyone think I'll be able to attend college for next semester which starts on January 7, 2017?

Well, maybe that's why. I still think you should be fine. Good luck!

Info pass appointments are useless... Sorry. But if it helps talking to someone in person go for it. Don't expect to get much though. Good luck!

So I realize most efforts to expedite your case don't really work, but I gotta make sure I try everything. Has anyone been able to call the service center processing your case? I just emailed them yesterday&basically pleaded them to process my case, but I don't even know if they're going to respond.

Oh my God! I was just notified that they approved my I-765. My I-821D status remains unchanged ("case was received"). Has anyone had this happen too? (Work auth being approved without notification of acutal DACA approval) I'm assuming that I won't have to worry about it.
So here is my timeline of this nail biting process:

Application received: 6/15
Biometrics notification: 8/26
DACA/EAD expired: 9/5
Biometrics done: 9/12 (with appointment, they did not let me walk-in)
EAD approved: 12/5
EAD card arrival: TBD

I've been out of work for exactly 3 months as of today. I lost employment with the hospital I worked for over 3 years. I recently applied for an advanced nursing program from which I was notified last week that they could not process my background check. I requested a second background check this morning and coincidentally, my EAD was approved, so we will see.

During this time I visited local USCIS probably 3 or more times, called customer service to file service request x2. I waited for biometrics for about 2 months and they sent me notification few days after I filed service request. I called customer service last week and filed another service request to escalate my case (and also emailed them) and voila, it was approved today (Monday).
I highly recommend filing service request to escalate your case. Although visiting local office didn't do much, I was told that I could also send a letter to appeal to the service center (for humanitarian purpose/extreme hardship). Sometimes you do get unexpected info that way. Don't ever think those times are wasted.

I hope you all get your approval soon. And you will.
I felt like I was slowly drowning every single day. I really really wish the best of luck to you all.

Yes, don't worry. It will change. You will probably receive your card this week too. That's what happened to me. I got approved on Monday and received my work permit on Friday.

I am in the process to be rehired by my former company! I'm excited!

This is my final timeline:
Date received: 6/7/2016
Biometrics: 09/15/2016 (no walk-in)
Expired: 10/7/2016
Approved: 11/28/2016
EAD Received: 12/2/2016

Hello I just recently renewed my DACA. I wanted to share my timeline of how long it took to I get my renewal EAD. This is the second time I've had to renew my EAD. It helps to always keep photocopies of past applications, I kept my Initial Request and my last renewal, so filing my renewal application was a breeze. If you're not sure of any of the questions, the guide to the application is quite helpful. You can always get a Lawyer but if you're like me and can't afford one..following the guideline can be just as much help
I didn't leave the Country during those 2 years, I never applied for Advanced Parole.

The only thing I would've changed is sending my application within the 120-150 days slot. I sent mine on the day it expired (not a good idea) so I was blessed to have an approval so quickly. I was on Maternity leave but I was hoping and praying my EAD card arrived before January 2017, low and behold 😎
Sept 20- My Renewal Application rec'd @ USCIS
Sept 23- USCIS sent a notice for Biometrics Appointment
Oct 14- I went to Biometrics Appointment
November 27- Case approved, producing new card
Dec 2- USCIS mailed new card
Dec 5- EAD arrived.

It took a little over 2 months to renew my card through the Nebraska Service Center. I was very anxious so it helped that you could create an account online so you can track the update of your DACA. I hope this timeline helped. Good luck!
