Thank you.

Heard this from my attorney, who worked at USCIS for 10 years, in different roles (Adj. officer, appeals officer, asylum officer, supervisor...)
They process applications as they come in, i.e. first come first serve. They are constantly slammed with piles of new applications everyday, turnover is super high and resources are limited. However, congressional inquiries are always taken care of right away.
I would highly recommend that you physically walk into you rep. or senator's office as soon as you can, with all your documents and evidences. They will expedite your case and you hear something within 2 weeks.
Good luck

This is soooo frustrating ive been waiting for over 8 months now. Below is the response my local congressman got from USCIS. I'm at a loss on what to do.
The congressman's office said they would submit another request in 30 days.

They told me it was pending background check back in December when i opened a service request .

The OMbudsmans office also emailed me saying they contacted USCIS about my case, based on the complaint i filed. Waiting to hear back from them.

Sucks to be stuck in "A small percentage of cases have unresolved background check issues " . I have never had any contact within law enforcement. not even a traffic ticket.

Received : 5/23/16
Bio : 7/14/2016
Approved : TBD

This e-mail message is in reply to your inquiry regarding the Forms I-821D, Consideration of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, and I-765, Application for Employment Authorization,XXXXXX with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) on May 23, 2016.

USCIS records confirm that XXXXX 's case is pending background check clearance. USCIS is committed to adjudicating these cases in a timely manner while also ensuring public safety and national security. A small percentage of cases have unresolved background check issues that temporarily delay adjudication. Although USCIS makes every effort to resolve such cases promptly, USCIS is unable to speculate when the background check will be completed.

USCIS realizes that your constituent may be frustrated by the progress of his case. However, the agency must balance individual inconvenience against broader issues of public safety and national security.

Sorry if this has been answered before, but I haven't been able to find an answer so here goes: waiting for my DACA renewal since October, I saw yesterday that in my ELIS it showed "Status Message: USCIS has approved your application or petition, or request. USCIS will mail your proof of benefit or USCIS action to you.". However, the case still shows as "in process" and in the case status webpage it shows up as "we have received your app".

Does this status message mean I am approved for my renewal? Is it a precursor to it at least? Or is it just a glitch? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

My DACA expires January 2018, I'm going to reapply around April if DACA is left intact.
