So at 9:40am today, I found an appointment in the system for 10am. I decided to book it and rushed and didn't show up until 11 am. The guy at checkin did not seem to give two shits that I showed up late; he didn't even mention it. I was seen within 10 minutes, and the lady at the counter was quite possibly the least helpful government employee I have dealt with. Every time I would speak, she would cut me off. She literally kept saying. "We don't handle work permits, Nebraska does." Whenever I would ask a follow up question, she would cut me off and kept saying that I "just didn't get it." She got a supervisor for me, who was much more patient and nice, but whose advice was ultimately, "have your employer write a letter explaining your hardship to USCIS." Not email, snail mail.

So it looks like if they don't rush through the applications, I'll be terminated from work August 17. The good news is that they have told me they will rehire me if I get it renewed soon after, but I really want to avoid all that hassle.

Had the same experience last week. They are freaking pointless. Mine expires in like two weeks. My jobs hasnt sait anything and im sure they could hire me back if they end up terminating. However, im just afraid the renewals are going to be taking much longer that 6 months. This is bs though.

People should also email NILC and let them know generally about the delays. They are well positioned for advocacy.

Sounds rough. I actually have an infopass in about 2 days but i'm seriously considering not even wasting my time based on people's experieces. I was terminated on 7/29. I can be rehired on the spot as soon as i have the EAD on hand, but still. kind of sucks.

Hello everyone,
I found this forum out of desperate search for answers regarding the delayed renewals. It breaks my heart to see so many others in the same situation as I. My application was received 03/28/2016 and my EAD expired 07/20/2016
I, too, have called and submitted inquiries to no avail. I have an infopass appointment tomorrow. But based on the experiences of other members I'm not exactly hopeful.
My job offered to overlook my expired permit as long as my renewal is pending and not denied.
Has anyone continued working with their expired EAD?

How do you know that? how do you check?

I called to find out more info about my case they said it was being processed in a national benefit center. The rep couldn't tell me more than that besides following up on the 105 day mark.

Who are you addressing your letter to? My permit expires the same day as yours. My job told me they will give me a one-month leave starting on the 17th if necessary. After that, I'll be "separated from the company." My boss has said they will hire me back as soon as I have my EAD, I just hope it doesn't come to that. This is so careless of USCIS. If US Citizens were losing jobs over a government process delay everyone would lose their freaking minds. We're paying our taxes, and being responsible, contributing members of our communities. Not to mention we've paid for our renewals. This should not be happening

I went to my INFOPASS (Las Vegas) appointment today and well it was useless. The lady said there is nothing they can do and that interim EAD were issued years ago. I asked if she could do a service request and she said no just wait. That was it. Useless government people. This is where our tax money goes.
