Why try if it's not going to do any good? His point was that a lot of people are telling that doing a service request will help getting approved faster. They are spreading wrong info. Without being approved for DACA you can't request the service for the work permit.

Some people would rather do something than wait passively. But same as the walk-in issue, why care if it doesn't affect you? Some people have been waiting 3 + months and to be honest times are getting desperate for some, me included. It's just a glimmer of hope but many of us are willing to take it.
Sure it might not help, but discouraging people for "trying" and coming from an approved person? If I didn't try I wouldn't have been a college graduate.


Just remember that

We were all illegals.

you are comparing apples to oranges. Walk in helps and some times it doesn't. The service request won't help you because in order to get it you have to wait to be approved for DACA. You can wait up to 6 months before even thinking about doing a service request.

Lucky! Wishing for ur speedy approval...
Having to have a professional license always held me back from trying to do something like that... Hopefully i can get my daca and go for a masters.... I'd love to b a professional licensed counselor.
