Hi guys,

So I have a recruiter trying to place me in one of the fortune 500 companies and this is what she asked me. What is the proper response to her email as I am trying to avoid to specifically say that I'm on DACA as she might drop me as soon as she knows but seems like I have to mention?

"Just to clarify – Are you on a student Visa right now which allows your work authorization OR are you in the process of getting a EAD/Green Card?"

Thanks in advance!

Tell her you're in the process of getting a presidential pardon.

Why is she asking? Did you show her your DACA?

Is that an in-house recruiter? If so, it's illegal for her to ask.

It depends, if they are concerned about the expiration then she needs to know.

There are companies that do not want to hire 2 year people that will need sponsorship.

I have never been asked that by recruiters, but I think you should tell her that you are not on student Visa and that you already have EAD - if you in dact have the work permit.

You don't have to tell her you are DACA recipient. Just answer that you are in the process of getting an EAD or that you currently have one, whatever the case may be. However, you don't mention anything about how you qualified for your EAD.

It's funny why she asked. Usually they don't ask unless OP mentioned something to them...

Or unless you showed them the DACA.
