Napolitano reiterates call for Republican support During a White House press briefing Friday, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano refused to predict when the US Senate would introduce legislation in support of comprehensive immigration reform, insisting that the Obama administration could only wait until Democrats and Republicans come together in support of a bill. "I think it is fair to say that it is time for immigration reform; that the administration is ready to invite the Congress to get at it. But again..., it can't be just one party; the Republican leadership now needs to come to the table," Napolitano said during the briefing. |
