Yeah hi so I am new here in this forum, I am in a similar situation as you. Can you explain more in details when were you current to adjust your status? why didn t u get approved? how old are you? and what does AOS has to do with administrative closure? and how did u even apply for AOS and your priority date is not current yet? Thank you in advance for your help

01JUN98 my dad's is being sponsored by this USC brother, and the chart is now at 01JUN98 in order to start applying and this petition date is April 01, 2001 (or so, don't have it in front of me) so this means
2 years 10 months 0 days, well 2 years and 10 months will fly by, i will be on my third DACA by that time and be 34-35 years of age.

F4 moved about 3 weeks in the month. Slow but better than nothing I guess. The application starting date didn't move though.

What application start date? I thought the beneficiary can apply for I-485 Adjustment on the PD current date?

Since the last executive action (that didn't get included in the lawsuit) they have two dates on there - one is the final action date when the visa becomes available and they can give it (probably more technical than that) and now there is an application date when you can file the application which is a few months or more earlier than the priority date. I think you might be able to apply for a work permit as well while you wait for the actual visa to be available.

I wish obama could wave executive office magic and make me and all of you skip this 20 year wait.

The Executive Action have nothing to do with F1 or F4 category right?

So the file date is something new on the Visa Bulletin?

That means the PD does not matter. The file date does and then you have to wait few months to actually get approved and get the GC.

Work Permit before getting the GC?

Well priority date matters the most since that's when you can get a green card only after that day but this can help speed things up a little since without it, you'd have to wait until the PD to get the ball rolling which would delay getting a work permit and such.
