ive called for Biden not giving us sht for literal years, these people get so upset because its the truth, we DEFINITELY had better chances at a bill with Trump forcing these mfs to act on urgency. but hey orange man bad.

If the 5th Circuit finds that some parts of DACA are unlawful, it should only strike down those components, the Biden administration told the court today.

A DHS rule expected in the coming months will separate DACA’s deportation protections from the grant of work authorization.
I feel like this was a mistake of them to give them the option of separating deportation protection from work authorization.

UPDATE: Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals heard the oral argument. It was absolutely frustrating to hear Texas lawyers argue that DACA costs money to Texas without real evidence, but we knew this was coming.

What’s next:
1️⃣DACA recipients can continue to renew!
2️⃣Today we only heard arguments, but decision won’t come until months from now.
3️⃣There is a very real possibility that the program can end with this ruling.
4️⃣There’s also possible they keep it and goes to the Supreme Court.

I'm more interested in if they will allow the renewals to continue while it's considered in SCOTUS. While it's still not looking good, SCOTUS has a precedent ruling for ACA because the states don't have the standing for the case. Texas and other states didn't show the factual standing that DACA hurts them. Also, it'll take more than a year for SCOTUS to make ruling. It'll be devastating to wait for the ruling without DACA.

I dont understand the argument that texas is losing money supporting daca recepients considering daca recepients have to pay in and pay taxes just like a regular citizen but cant use those programs they pay into. How are they winning this? Seems like something that would be easy to argue.

Has anyone considered that the court issue can be resolved if all Daca recipients leave the state of Texas? Simply move out of Texas and the legal cases go away.

1] Still supporting Trump.
2] Thinking Trump would ever push for something that would benefit us.
3] Thinking Congress would act.
