I think it is just the USCIS website is messing up. You should be fine.

It's actually quite charming over here and people are really nice, even though I can't understand what they're saying half of the time.

I'm done with all the medical stuff, tomorrow got the biometrics appointment, and Friday is the big day.
Any good news yet?

Indeed. I was out busy shopping and couldn't log in, but I was approved today.
It was very...anticlimactic. The girl asked me about the 601A waiver (if I had it on me and to show it to her) and about my dad since he was the one providing the affidavit of support (does he work? do you have a copy of his certificate of naturalization?). The only other thing she asked was when was my last entry to the U.S, and if I had been to Mexico or Canada after that.

And hot damn, they work fast here in Colombia. Just checked my emails and it says that my package is ready for pickup.

Congratulation!! One of the first success story, hopefully many more to come after yours.

Did he ask for more documents to proof your dad has a steady job? tax return, letter from employer?

My wife doesn't work so I'm basically doing an affidavit of support for myself.

Thank you! She didn't ask me for anything. I brought pay stubs, letter of employment, and the tax transcripts, but she didn't ask me to show them to her. Just kind of went with what I was saying.

When it comes to the documents this is how it went down. It was a three step process. First you go to a table and they make you put some documents together (birth certificates (yours and petitioner), passport, two pictures.

Then you go to a different area where I think someone checks what kind of documents are in the system (they only asked me for my criminal record letter- the letter of no antecedentes penales I think it's called in Spanish)

Then you wait for the interview, and that's where I was asked for my dad's letter of naturalization and the waiver.

I cannot imagine it being that different in Juarez or anywhere else since it's the American embassy.

That's very comforting because I was imagining it to be an hour-long interrogation. lol

Not at all. At the most it's like 15 mins, and most of the time the interviewer is just typing stuff and sometimes throwing questions at you. That's it.

Did you have to get a police certification from USA?

No. Only people with some kind of record in the USA have to do that.
