No. You have to manifest an intent to live in Washington. You don't manifest an intent by pretending you're going to live there knowing full well that you're going just for a license. If you're planning on moving there and take steps to that end, that's a different story. But that doesn't sound like what you're describing, hence the no.

Honestly, it's not too big a difference except that, in practice, Washington requires people without SSNs to verify their residence, which effectively means that their seemingly lax regulations, requiring only manifesting an intent to live in Washington, become like Texas' "your residence ... is in [Washington] ... and ... you have lived here for at least 30 days" standard.

So how many days do you have to live there?

Depends. If you have no SSN, as long as it takes for them to get back to you, so probably at least 6 weeks. Without an SSN, long enough to show you want to live there.

If you are looking to get one DA User, it's fairly easy to get one from NM.

Just need two proofs of residency... In my case I used a cable (internet bill) and a lease contract that I signed. In less than 2 months i got my DL! It's harder if you are under 25 because the state requires all drivers under 25 to go through an anti drunk driving program.

In any case... whether you have a DL from Washington or NM, I would advise against supplying it as information for this DACA process. Yes we may have legitimately gone there and resided there to get the DL but as I heard from a lawyer its very risky to use this as proof.

BTW, is it serious crime to disqualify me if I obtained WA license without any fake document but lived in California?

I believe it's okay. There are plenty of people who live in a different state than from the one presented in their DL.

What if you have a SSN?

NM is the easiest one? Supplying what for the DACA process? The Washington or New Mexico license?

Back to the topic now, what if you have a SSN and have a expired and/or unexpired ID from other state? Can someone just drive there from out of state, walk-in and get a ID/License?

No one here thinks it's an issue having a license from a state you don't reside in? I'm worried this could be an issue in my application? Should I disclose it, and use it as proof of being in the U.S.? And if I don't use it in my application, will they still know about it? In other words, would it come up in a background check?

Remember guys, u say u live in a state when you don't, that's a fraud. Right?

*edit*...I'll just say to remember that google is watching and your keywords can draw unfriendly people here looking for an excuse to make life harder for us. Watch what you say.
