Has anyone here ever self-file the petition for U-visa? I have already got the supplement-b certificate from the attorney general office in the county that I was a victim of a crime. My eligible criteria of crime is felonious assault.

The pro-bono place I go to, is very busy and has been waiting for almost 1 year so I'm trying to see if it is easy enough for me to file it myself. Would greatly appreciate for sending the information my way on how to do it.

U visa is dead, the wait time is like 11 years now. There’s 100000 pending and only 10000 available each year. You can self petition it’s not a family visa lol. But you do need to spend 900 on the waiver for inadmissible.

Tell me about it. My parents have been waiting since 2015 just so they can even take a look at their application. What a shame

They do put you indefinitely into deferred action while the backlog moves forward. Granted - it will take years to work through it but in the meantime you are protected and can work.

You have to be put on a waiting list to receive deferred action . My parents are waiting just to be put on the waiting list so they don't qualify for deferred action until so .

Yeah it takes them a bit to actually give you a conditional approval for I-918, which basically what puts you into deferred action.

Usually you want to include an I-765 requesting a (c)(14) classification with it.

I-918 is pretty easy if you have the supplement B already. That is the hard part.
