Great to see the Dream act resurected again but should it not also include
E2 children. The lack of a pathway for E2 visa holders inevitably mean their children have to leave the U.S. upon reaching the age of 21.
My son,Matt , for instance has lived here in the U.S.since his arrival in 1993 when he was just one year old.Now 18 and in his first year of University the time is quickly passing to when he will have to depart to a country where he can utilise his american education.
The Dream act needs to give the same opportunity to these legal kids caught up in the nightmare of the U.S. immigration.

I've spoken to a lawyer about this and he says he will qualify.

Even if for some reason USCIS starts rejecting legal DREAMers for the hell of it (they've been known to have some pretty strict interpretations), it's an easy fix on your son's part. He can wait till the day his visa expires to apply for DREAM. There is no limitation on when one becomes "illegal", just when you entered the country. But somehow, with the new administration on this supposed "accountability" binge, I doubt this will happen and more than likely legal DREAMers will not have to wait until their visas expire to get the paperwork rolling.

Even if they do tell people to wait until their visa's expire, it's probably because they just want to make sure people use DREAM as a last resort in staying in this country and take advantage of other opportunities if they have them. If your son has no other opportunity to stay in this country, DREAM is his safety net.

Long story short, either way your son qualifies.

I spoke to my lawyer this morning. Children who were brought to this country when they were young and GRADUATED from US High school or got their GED will qualify under the DREAM act regardless of their current immigration status which includes E2, F1 etc
