Just popping in to 1) say hi to everyone, and 2) introduce myself briefly.

So on to 1). HEY EVERYONE. I am extremely relieved to find this forum. It's become a source of comfort to me during these times. I have to admit the in-fighting on the boards is simultaneously alarming and amusing.

And now, 2). I don't want to go into too much detail, but I'm a recent college graduate waiting for admission to graduate school. If I'll actually receive admission remains to be seen; the department I applied to was initially excited when they received my application (WHOO SOMEONE COMPETENT). Upon learning of my immigration status (or lack thereof, thanks to an incompetent immigration lawyer), though, their interest and excitement waned considerably (OH SHIT SHE'S ILLEGAL). Oh well. That's understandable. I'm used to having the universe shit on me, anyway.

Obviously I'm pretty damn bitter. Chronic stress and perpetual depression can do that to you.

I'm going through one of the worst times of my life right now. I'm waiting for it and for the DREAM Act to pass. In the meantime, I have plenty of time and angry energy to use up, so I'll do my part to help the DREAM Act pass this year.

First of all welcome to "DAP". Also congrats on graduating and good luck on your admission to grad school. I don't think you should get used to bad things all the time. Good things will happen eventually.

Welcome, and I'm sorry to hear about your story =/

I feel your pain (we all here do!!), I haven't even been able to start college yet.

Don't lose hope, we'll all do everything in our power to help the Dream Act to pass.

Thanks for the welcome and the well-wishes. More crap happened after what little funding I had was taken away. I'm angry, frustrated, and humiliated.

I don't handle humiliation well, more than anything. In any case, life has to go on somehow. There are other schools and other countries that could use my skills.

Good luck to everyone too. I hope life works out somehow.

if we could just get everyone to think like you do, our side would be 100x's stronger.

I am a firm believer that to get people involved you need to get their blood pressure up. Make them so pissed off that they are willing to "fight" for what they want. That is why I don't agree with how the mods here censor anything that is not all Dream Act lovey-dovey.

WAKE UP PEOPLE!! This is a BATTLE not a CAUSE.
