hey there!
not sure if this is in the right area.

I don't post as much as I should although I constantly check the portal for updates,
but basically I'm wondering if there any major protests or rallies happening in the Los Angeles area on May Day and if anyone here is attending any of them.

I found this one http://www.immigrantsolidarity.org/MayDay2009/
and I found another where they march to the ICE detention center in Downtown LA (can't find site)

anyone else have any info? me and my friend really want to march this year.

I wonder if it's a good idea to be organizing these large rallies( especially in texas, cali etc) with the swine flu going around?

Horrible idea, the last thing you need is to get a bigger outbreak because of crowds -- particularly crowds that contain immigrants -- not smart.

Oh jeez, not you too!
Immigrants have NOTHING to do with it. Immigrants were living here, not in Mexico, when the outbreak occurred.
It wasnt the immigrants who brought the flu here, it was tourists coming in and out.

But i do think its a bad idea nonetheless. Who knows who has it, one infected person there can infect 10, and then the small amount of cases can double.
