I was on top of the DREAM Act and all its details since I discovered it back in 2005. I had no hope until then, I thought I would always be undocumented, yet I continued to research until I found this site. I was enthusiastic.

I always knew I had to work hard in school if I wanted to get anywhere, even if I was illegal. So I silently prayed for our miracle. I made many phone calls, signed petitions, made flyers, and other things.

I was inspired.

Suddenly my world changed. My mom got married and before you knew it my stepdad became a citizen. I have no idea how or why these things happened, but we never had a concrete plan as to becoming legal through him. Everything worked out so perfectly it's hard to say it wasn't a work of GOD.

They were married before both my older sister and I turned 18, just in time. My life seemed to shatter when our lawyer said Id have to leave to Mexico. I was so afraid Id never return. I deferred college for a year last summer and hoped for the best.

I left last November and anxiously lived through 5 months until our CDJ appt. I was approved and my sister was denied. I was devastated. I preferred 100X to have been denied than her. We pulled together though, and within a week she was approved.

We were incredulous; we still are.

I have always dreamed more than I probably should, but I have to say that if we hold on and forge ahead, nothing is impossible. Everything slowly falls into place. I still wish with all my heart that the DREAM ACT passes, and when that happens I will probably cry from relief and happiness because I know what it's like. Don't give up guys.

Your DREAM is around the corner.

Congrats! I was worried after we didn't hear from you. Have you decided which college you're going to?
