I don't know where to start, well... I guess at the beginning.
I was born in Juarez, Mexico. Possibly the worse mistake I could have done. After all, it IS my fault I was born right on a Border City right?. I have a brother that's 4 years older than me. We've always gotten along, though he's gotten a little bossy over the years.
Anyway, My parents owned a business in Juarez, everything was "peachy". We had an awesome Dog named Rocky and I was happy... well, until I visited my family in California and I fell in love with the place @ age 5. We visited by plane, with passports and the whole 9 yards. Nothing to worry about then. So we went back, took care of affairs, Sold the business, we would have brought Rocky, but he got stolen. So now we're back in California with plans to Stay.
I'm not exactly sure how the paperwork details go, but I grew up thinking I had come to the coolest place in the world and I could call it home.
Apparently the Government has other plans for me, and with that in mind, my Parents Dragged me back to Juarez @ age 8.
Let me tell you something, school in Mexico is not the same. U ever been smacked with a ruler in your hand for resting your head on the desk?
Well, My younger sister was born in El Paso, TX on the way to Mexico.
My brother stayed in El Paso, TX with some other family in order to finish Middle School. When he did, he came to visit and was robbed for Jewelry gun in hand.
I'm not saying that here it's super-safe, but some places are a bit more "unsafe" than others. So he made his decision and moved with Grandma here in California at age 15. It wasn't long before we realized we couldn't be apart for long, so 2 years later, @ age 14, I returned to this place.
I spoke English already, but it was obvious I didn't have much practice. From there I knew it wasn't going to be an easy road. Fortunately, I was smart enough to excel in most of the classes. I even aced my Driver's Ed class, Which WAS a graduation requirement at the time, Kind of Ironic, everyone else who didn't get an A got their permits and licenses well before I did. Heck I'm probably a better driver (no accidents, tickets, or infractions in 4 years of driving) and I still don't have my license (Which brings up my insurance price).
Oh well, life isn't fair. That's what the PE teachers used to tell us all the time.
Well except me, I was the leader of the pack when it came to fitness.
Well, it all went like that until my Junior year. That's when I realized in the eyes of the government I'm nothing.
HP was having a job fair, and they had a 2 page questionnaire for students to fill out. The person with the highest score would be contacted for a paid internship.
Guess who got the high score... Yeah me.
Guess who got the job... My friend, who I feel really happy for.
So I could have had a career, and a place I could have drove to, at the same time I attended the college of my choice... why?
Because I was better in every aspect... not by genetics, but simply by trying harder.
Why didn't it happen? Well, we all know why. I wouldn't be posting my story in this forum if It weren't the same reason.
I'm 21 still living with my parents, working a dead end job(btw, restaurants don't check a lot of things when you apply), Lost my fitness due to stress...
But why should I work in food service, when I'm clearly cut out for something better.
My father is ill and unable to take care of the house on his own now. My sister is still in school and can't fend for herself yet. I can't simply just leave the responsibility to mom, and my older brother, well, He's already got a family to take care of.
Of course time had made me fall behind on my glorious advantage. I'm not even motivated anymore. What more can I do with the bars of not having a SSN, a passport, or green card.
I love America for everything for which it stands. I love California for it's natural Beauty. But the people running both need to realize that we're not here to do any of the things they say.....
We're not leeching, we're not attacking, we're not changing their ways.
We were simply raised American but are denied rights and privileges a born citizen has.
It is not NOW time to change this, it HAS BEEN for a long time.
Let me be FREE to get the job I want, to Serve in the Military, to Raise my Education, And to stop hiding my Reasons to my friends, co-workers, and employers.
I have not made my own family because I know that when I do, they will deserve better than the limitations I have. Please Remove that BURDEN. Times are hard as it is, we don't need any more trouble than we already have.

Why should I dread cops when they're here to serve and protect?
If I get stopped on top of whatever the reason's fine is, I will get a huge fine for driving without a license. Why can't I visit my Great grandmother who I know won't be with us for much longer? Why couldn't I go to my own Grandfather's Funeral?
How can you call me a potential terrorist when it's because of them I can't get on a plane anymore... I hate them as much as the rest of America does.
I am now an American, but the government won't see it.

Wow sorry about that. After I got my B.S in Psychology, I was offered an amazing job at a Mental Facility...I had to pass it on to my friend...didnt tell her why I chose an "office manager" position instead of a case manager....just gaver her the best wishes. Hang in there.
