I am a new member, well I've been following this portal ever since I graduated High school, but never really posted. I graduated in 2007 and since then I've been calling and doing all sorts of things to do my part whenever the DA was brought up.

Like I said, I graduated in 2007 with a G.P.A. of 3.8, and was involved in many clubs and school activities. I got accepted to all the colleges I applied to but couldn't go because of my legal status. I applied for this loan which was granted to me, but then they revoked it when I couldn't provide proof of my legal status in this country.

I decided to go to a community college and got a job a this fast food place so I could pay for tuition and college. Unfortunately, I had to drop my classes this semester so I could help out my mom and dad who were left without a job because of the recent economic meltdown.

If the DA was passed, it would change my life because I'd be able to look for a better job since I have a nice looking resumé (most of it has been built through volunteering work since I am not able to apply for jobs or internships), I'd also be able to get a DL, and more opportunities for college!

Well, not that you all are new to this...I'm sure there's a whole bunch of you out there in the same situation!

For some reason, I am very hopeful this year; with the new president and all the support (which is a lot more than previous years) I am sure that We can make this happen! This is why I decided to become an official member and devote everyday to call, email and write to my representatives!:

You seem really optmistic, which really helps.
There's not much that we can do now, but you seem to be doing everything in your power to pass the Dream Act.
