So I understand what the dream act is going to do for us school wise, and let us go to school, and get grants and apply for scholarships but I am not sure I have seen anywhere if the dream act is going to give us a real ssn, if it is going to allow us to renew or get a new drivers license, and lastly I know my situation here I can't leave the country or I won't be allowed back in, is that going to change? I haven't gone been out of the U.S. to see my family in almost 9 years now. Are they gonna make it possible for us to go out of the country and come back as well..?

The DREAM Act will give you conditional legal residency for up to 6 years while you complete your 2 years of school or 2 years of military service. Because you'll have this conditional legal residency, you'll be able to obtain a DL, work, and travel (but for short amounts of time). After the 6 years, you'll have permanent legal residency and can apply for citizenship.

Another thing, the DREAM Act will make you eligible for loans and work-study, no grants or any other type of federal financial aid.

Hope that answered your questions. Please search around this board and over at www.dreamactivist.org to learn more about the DREAM Act and become active.
