Dear Friend,

Walter Lara, a 23 year-old honor student will be deported this 4th of July weekend.

Walter’s family immigrated from Argentina when he was three years old. He has only known life as an American, and proudly declares that “the United States is my home.”

But we can help him. U.S. Senator Bill Nelson has stepped in and written the Department of Homeland Security on Walter's behalf, requesting that they defer action on Walter's deportation because "he has earned the chance to live and work here and call America home."

Sign onto Sen. Nelson's letter and on Thursday, July 2, 2009, we will deliver Sen. Nelson's letter with your co-signature to the Department of Homeland Security.

At this point, only DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano can stop Walter's deportation so please co sign the letter today!

Go to: http://action.seiu.org/page/s/nelsonletter to co- sign the letter today!

Thanks

Congratulations!
I've just joined this forum today and as I was reading the original post, glancing down just enough to see that there was a reply, I feared the worse and wished I could have been here then to help out.
Thankfully that wasn't the case, and instead I was met with a slightly different feeling than compared to just reading about some random person being helped, this time it was someone with a history I can closely relate to, and not just one, but many people were there at the end of the tunnel to help him out.
