I am having a hard time renewing my Mexican passport because i need a valid photo i.d either from Mexico or the U.S . the problem is like many others I've never had any i.d from Mexico I've been in the U.S since the age of 2. My drivers license expired last year and they won't accept that and it's been over 3 years that i graduated from H.S so my school id probably won't work.

so now i feel like i don't belong no where. has anyone here experienced something similar if so how did you handle it any advice will be appreciated.

All you need is your mexican birth certificate and one or two proofs of residency, i don't remember. With that you get something called a mexican marticula ID, it's used for mexican nationals living abroad. And with that, and your old passport you can get your new passport. I think it cost about $80.00. Visit the mexican embassy for more information.

The best thing you can do is call the documentation department at your local consulate. They are the one's that will tell you what will and won't work. When you call to make the appointment the people you speak with have no idea what they are talking about. I got my passport and my matricula in one day, although my appointment was only for the matricula. I used my birth certificate and my OLD college ID. When I called to make the appointment they kept telling me to get my transcript notarized by the school with my picture on it and with a stamp of the school on the picture, since I didn't have a current ID. Got to the consulate and told them I was there to get my passport and matricula (they don't check to see what your appointment is for). They took my OLD college ID, my birth certificate, and a copy of my bank statement since I needed something with my name and address on it. I got both took from 8:30 am to about 11:30 am.

A few things to remember: Make copies of everything a couple of each item, come in with your application filled with a copy, bring ONLY CASH! They don't take credit cards or checks. Be nice to them and they are nice to you =)

Oh man, the people at the Consulate in NYC are bitches too! theyre so mean. I guess theyre bitches everywhere! I hate going there. I went to another town cuz they have this thing called sobre ruedas and they came to a town near by, so i just went there. they were alot nicer! and they didnt ask me for an ID. Just my old passport and copies of it. My passport now expires 2015.. just tell them you dont have an id. see what happens. good luck

The same thing happened to me. I had to go several times before I finally got it right. I took my college transcripts. I guess you can call your high school and order your transcripts. I ordered mine online. I took the ID from my college and my Mexican birth certificate. It has to be the original birth certificate, because I've seen them making a big fuss over the birth certificate. They even asked me proof of residency even though I was applying for passport, so take that with you also. Good luck! Hehe hope you have a better time filling the form, they had finish filling out my form once I got inside.
