The Texas DREAM Act Alliance is a newly formed umbrella organization consisting of active DREAM Act advocacy groups in the state of Texas. Its goals are to improve communication between groups, coordinate state campaigns and share resources on the state and national level in an effort to the pass the DREAM Act.

Formed by Texas DREAM activists, one of its primary purposes is to make sure the DREAM Act groups in one Texas city are aware of what all the other groups across the states are doing and vice versa. Currently, we have member organizations in Arlington, Dallas, Houston, College Station and San Antonio with more on the way.

If you live in Texas are interested in joining with others to promote the DREAM Act, check out if there are any DREAM Act groups in your area by looking at our Member Organizations.

You can also visit our Take Action section to learn what you can do to promote the DREAM Act, including a Texas based Call Your Legislators Flier you can download and pass out. This flier has a step by step guide on how to call your legislators and the contact information for both Texas Senators and all Representatives.

Additionally, if you're looking to meet up with fellow DREAMers and allies, both the Houston and Dallas DREAM Act Coalitions are in the process of organizing DREAM Act forums. For more information check out our Upcoming Events section.

Finally, the TDAA seeks to provide practical resources to DREAMers including comprehensive guides on How to Obtain Identification (Matriculas, Passports and even a New Mexico License), guides on How to Open Bank Accounts, How to Travel on Airplanes, How to Register for the Selective Service and more. These resources include Texas specific guides as well.

For more information check out our Resources for Undocumented Students section.

I'm not sure what the difference between south Austin and regular Austin is but here's the contact information for ULI which is Austin based:

University Leadership Intiative
The University Leadership Initiative, or ULI for short, is a group of students based out of the University of Texas at Austin campus.

They helped coordinate and run previous DREAM acts forums, contact speakers for events, participated in marches, organized letter writing, postcard and call-in campaigns in support of the DREAM Act.

ULI focuses on advocating for the DREAM Act on the congressional level, specifically targeting representatives and senators in an effort to get them to support the DREAM Act.

This is a great initiative. Are you all planning to do any sort of outreach to middle & high school students who may be undocumented? I think that would be a great way to make an impact, so they know there is a chance for them to go to college, etc.
