Reading over the advice that people were giving for jothesh2 for his first job, I started to wonder, how old was everyone when they got their first job? if you want you can also give a few details.

For me, I was thirteen, it was a few months after 9/11 and my parents had lost their job due to companies getting scared from the increasing number of raids. My dad got injured in his new job and I had to basically fill in for him and become the money earner for the family at a job that paid me an astounding 20 bucks for over 12 hours of work my first day (they paid by the amount of work you did not the time it took you to do it). I ended up keeping that job for about 5-6 years, until senior year in high school.

ohh btw, I was not the only minor there either, just thought I would add that, I always found that weird.

I don't know that this would be considered a job since I quit on my first day, but I was 16 when I was hired for the first time. The managers were terribly intimidating and didn't treat us fairly, so I left. I'm 19 now and I still haven't found a steady job, but thankfully I don't need one right now.

4 years old man... I started working in Mexico selling estropajos. I was 16 when I started working here in the USA; it was a cool gig at a theater.

umm... e-business, did not take that into consideration. I was in 6th, so about 12-13 when I started selling over ebay. This guy, friend of my sister, would take me to all these auctions of places that went under and buy all this technology stuff, then sell it on ebay for a profit, very lucrative. I made about 400 bucks after spending half a day in those auction places and about 30-60 minutes making the listings on ebay, but it was also extremely risky (financially wise at least, they would not let you open any boxes to see what you were bidding on so people have spent hundreds on what ended up being basically empty computer towers in boxes).

I was 15, but I lied about my age and they thought I was 17.

I'm now 20 and I've had 7 jobs.
