Hey guys, I have a question that many of you might be able to answer. Recently my friend has been getting in arguments with some people I know who owe him money but would not return it easily since they know of his status and know he cannot do anything.

on the other hand, they wont report him since he has dirt on them as well.

Worst case scenerio if they came knocking on his door what are his options ?! I mean is he legally allowed to have a trial as long as he can afford an attorney ?! I mean he has means to afford a lawyer but then i hear all the time in the news as to how people are stuck in jail for months-years and then simply put on a plane and deported. Does that apply to only those people that cant afford a attorney ?!

I mean heck.. he has so much stuff in this country that he needs a chance to pack and leave he cant just be put on a plane.. from personal belongings to money in bank accounts... etc etc

I'd be out the other door. Hide in some bushes, call family in Mexico, catch the bus in the morning, go to class, email some people on here and DreamActivist, ace my midterms, find my parents. I don't know man... that's a toughie.

he is not scared of deportation.. mind you.

what i am asking is.. that are we by law required to have a trial and given bail if we can afford it ?!

he came here on a visa didnt cross the border. I mean.. he has so many belongings here and money in bank accounts.. he would require temporarily release to get his shit together before he left. he cant just be put on a plane.

Make sure ICE has the proper warrant (Judicial warrant). I have been told that most people let them in not knowing their rights. Or sometimes I have heard that they come knocking on the door without warrants.

(Note: you may want to check this, I am not a lawyer)
