Hey guys.

I know this may seem a little off topic and the question has come up more than once, but I need to send my college apps next week and I'm really confused on what to do.

I know that colleges in some states take in undocumented students, but I live in Michigan and want to go to a university here. I know that chances are low, but I wanted to apply there just for the heck of it.

On the application (University of Michigan, to be exact), it tells me that I need to write down my visa number or my permanent residence number, but I have neither. So, do I just leave it blank? And if I do, will the people at U of M not even bother looking at my app? Everything else seems fine, I just don't know what to do with that status/visa section! Can someone help me?

Much appreciated!

I go to one of the universities in Michigan. Send me a PM and I'll try to help you the best I can. =]

just call U of M, talk to an advisor and let them know of your status, the advisor should be able to inform you how to go about the application process. I know I did that during my college application, you may also want to know who your advisor is just in case you have some other questions.

You will probably end up leaving those parts blank btw, but who knows, maybe they have a particular series of steps they want you to follow.

Yes, Just call their admission office directly and let them know. Just submit the application and leave those fields empty. The bottom line is you can attend any college in this country you want as long as you pay the tuition and other bills on time.
