Should not be too long, USC parent petition son/daughter are one of the fastest, and if it is comparable to USC daughter petitioning parents expect an average of 9 months, it also seems to depend on where you file the documents, some places seem to work faster then others.

do keep us updated, if the DA does not happen this might be the path that I take, and congrats.

USC parent petition is not the fastest, according to the current visa bulletin it is faster to get petitioned by your permanent resident parents. 2003 is the earliest visa being processed for USC petitions, while 2005 is the earliest for permanent resident petitions. It also depends on what country you are from. What country are you from? So we can tell you how long your wait might be. Also, USC children petitioning their parents is a different matter and takes less than a year.

Hi,
I am from Grenada, too.

My cousin was able to get her green card within two years of her USC father petitioning for her (but she filed from Grenada).

My mom's lawyer also told her something similar; that she can apply for us right after her GC arrives and we should get it within a year or two (but these things are uncertain).

So, LPR parents can apply for their children while they reside in the states? If so the process is how long? And how does this change if the children turn 21 in the process?

From what I understand from the lawyer, she can apply for us while we're here. We overstayed our visa, but we were included in her 245(i) petition, so I don't know if it's different for other petitions.

are you sure... that is not what they said:
http://www.immigrate2us.net/forum/sh...ad.php?t=51038

in fact that is a similar time frame we got from lawyers we talked to... about 20-25 years they told us...

however, one lawyer mentioned that they could file for me, and when my parents became USC the petition time would be greatly accelerated.
