Sorry to disappoint you, but no one knows when it will pass out of the Judiciary Committee for a vote. Currently, the senate is very busy with health care reform--honestly I don't if immigration will be debated at all this year. Realistically speaking, you'd need to wait about 1-2 years until you can have a "normal" life--assuming immigration passes by the fall of next year.

That's what we all want to know......WHEN!

Meanwhile, since we have options of going to school, I'll go ahead and continue mine while I wait. BA will take two years, and if DA hasn't passed by then, at least I have an education.

Bro, probably one of the worst things a dreamer can do right now is wait. If you really want to receive what should of been yours all long, THEN FIGHT!

I personally am extremely lucky because I have another mechanism of attaining legal status, a family petition is almost getting through(took f***n 11-12yrs but later is better than never). When This happens, count on me to help bring awareness to this injustice on a greater scale.....and I got a big mouth lol . I don't know about other dreamers, but I can't bear have it on my conscience that we weren't able to summon up the courage to achieve this passage. I remind myself that there are future dreamers out there who will go through what we went through should we fail. This to me is UNACCEPTABLE!!

How do you know it is almost getting through? My parents also have a petition that has taken about 12 years but it seems that USCIS is taking a looong time. I'm worried I may age out. What's going on with you?

Long story short, my uncle in Los Angeles got held up in a dui and got questioned(you know how L.A. County is working with DHS?) yeah well, they said our petition is practically already here.....maybe like in 1-3 months at the max so yeah......Plus since I'm a potential military recruit, I'm golden

It sucks.. Not much I can do.. the school I want to go to is private and the others near my house or a lil further doesnt have the programs I want... plus id have to pay secondary which means I have to pay full amount before each semester and we dont have that kinda cash.. some schools let u in if u pay FULL w no finicial help before every semester..

and Im waiting for the dream act because my parents have been screwed over so many times w lawyers Im not counting on them to gimme nothing.. they cant even get it for themselves. Anyways Its a frustrating thing as u guys may know... I work, but have to have my parents drive me there and back which is ridicilous because I gotta show up on time...

We'll have to wait for a while, perhaps a many, many months.

The health care debate was long and tenuous and I'm certain that the same fate will befall the very important economic crisis debate, energy debate, Afghanistan debate, Iraq debate, financial reforms debate, Guantanamo Bay camp closures debate and who knows what.
