Speaking in Chicago today, U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin said his push for the failed DREAM Act will continue as long as he "draws breath."

The Democrat from Illinois has sponsored the legislation since 2001.

It's designed to help provide legal status for undocumented immigrants who are brought to the U.S. as young children and educated here. The act would help those students qualify for financial aid, among other benefits.

Durbin's comments Friday come as Sen. Charles Schumer of New York is drafting comprehensive immigration reform.

Durbin said Schumer, a Democrat, has promised the DREAM Act will be part of that. But Durbin said immigration reform won't come until next year because legislators are now focused on health care.

Durbin spoke at an immigration forum at DePaul University in Chicago.

I cannot believe you worked a Madonna song into this thread. Wow... Just wow.

Anyway, at least it shows we continue to have his undying support and dedication (even if it's not exactly the news we want to hear). Keep up the faith and patience. It'll happen.

I cant believe you are asking me or us in general to have patience. This is ridiculous on their part because they have no idea of our whole situation. I wonder what happened at that dream meeting they had today. Probably nothing since those "dreamies" probably rehash the same crap that they have heard before. Someone needs to tell them how it is and I wish I could.

About "Sorry" well the song could be our form of frustration. Madonna opens the song by saying "Sorry" in various languages. Dreamies are students around the world ,and her saying "sorry" in various languages is kinda like our voice. Moreover, her blasting someone for not doing anything furthers my point.

"Dont explain yourself because you talk is cheap" is a well deserve phrase for these people

Clearly, you enjoy the attention you get by posting nonsense about celebrities and anything not related to the DREAM Act or even immigration. Your posts seriously remind me of juang's antics, and I'm even starting to wonder if are the same person.

Please focus on the topic and stop promoting your "idols" any chance you get.

It is the reason why I give them a disapproving rating.

I'm incorporating something that I like with how I feel. I use music to express how I feel. I dont know if you get what Im trying to say but it is what it is.

And when you refer to "these celebrities" well at least they do more than those that sit in congress.
