so i have to come up with a persuasive topic for my speech class and i am debating in between "the health risks of certain food additives" or talking about the dream act in class which is a good topic but i don't know if that might be too personal for me to share in front of class. what do u guys think??

Ok, well since this is a DREAM Act forum, I have to tell you to talk about the DREAM Act.

Really, it depends on whether or not you are open about your status and if you are comfortable with disclosing it if you are asked about it by your classmates. I'm sure some jerk will end up coming up to you or asking you in front of the entire class if you are undocumented yourself. If you don't mind answering the question, go with it. Of course, you could always lie.

It would be a great topic especially for a persuasive essay. You can educate your classmates about what the DREAM Act actually is and who it would benefit.

If it were me, I would probably not do it on the DREAM Act, just because I'm a big chicken and wouldn't want my friends and classmates to know about my status.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

I talked about the Dream Act for my speech class. The teacher loved it. You should do it but take it from the angle of someone who sympathizes with the plight of young illegals and try to avoid looking like you're a Dreamie.
