Is anyone out there going crazy like i am?!! I mean if i have to deal with always being home ,not that it's bad but talking to the same people every day for another year i'm going to go insane ... i don't want to be in this situation any longer!! Why why is it taking so long for the dream act to pass! You know it sometimes gets to the point where it gets deppressing! Ever since i gratuated high school i lost all my friends mostly because i never get to see them(no car no licence no ID to get into any where no job so no money to hang out) or because of just too much drama. i don't ever go out, just with my boyfriend. Its always me and him me and him ,not that it's bad i love him, but i just miss being with my girl friends. When i see pics of them on the internet my herat drops because i'm not out there having fun the way girls my age should be haveing. There is just so many things that hold me back to do practicly anything. And the worst part (which kills me) is that i'm not going to school at all am i over reactiong or does anybody else feel the way??

You need to make some new friends and GO OUT!!! Don't waste your youth away sitting at home twiddling your thumbs. Have fun.

And you can use a passport to get into any lounge/club.

Also... ahem, try some new stuff with the boyfriend. Just kidding(not really)

I'm sure many of us or most of us can relate to how you are feeling. There are definitely direct links to our behavior and the immigration limbo we are all in. These behavioral patterns eventually become habits, our "safety net" if you will.

Where are you from? Do you have your High School Diploma? Can you go to College? do you work? While we can't tell for sure when the Dream Act will pass, it's a good idea to lay out your options. Go for a college degree while you wait for the DA, look at options if the DA ends up not working out, where will you go?, having as much education as you can get increases your life chances, no matter the outcome.

School is not an option for me just because out of state tuition is unbearable. i was going to school but i just didn't want to see my parents working there woo hoos off to pay a semester that for normal kids equals there whole bachlers degree. I do work i have an awsome job. That pays ok. but never enough to pay out of state tuition. if the dream act does not pass i don't know what i would do. my boyfriend wants to help by geting married but i am only 19 i don't know if immigration will take it seriously or what not. idk this is just all really hard.

Lauren hang in there. It might be passing soon! I'm sorry about how you are feeling but I am sort of in the same boat as you as far as the social issue. You should really just read and try to educate yourself when you have free time. It's terrible I know but you are only 19 some of us are OLD.

Your not overreacting I feel the same way you do and I'm in the same position that you are except that I don't even have a girlfriend so my life suck just a little bit more then yours. I can't stand it either I just want it to stop and get on with my life. Nothing to do but wait and hope things change.

I was going crazy then I stopped worrying about all the things I can't control. I stopped worrying about my status. I've lived in America for 11 years and it has been amazing. I love the experiences I've gone through, the people I met and thank God everyday that ICE does not stop people in New York City. I am blessed and CIR is going to happen. My freedom is all I have and I cherish it. Don't go crazy because without struggle there is no progress.

you've got to keep fighting and put your head up!

i know its tough but you've got to remember, you're not alone!

there's HOPE! be optimistic about it..

and don't you think that due to our status, we start and learn how to appreciate little and simple things in life that might not be important to others? we are more DRIVEN than MOSTpeople who are fortunate enough to have freedom to really do whatever they want in the United States. Our situation just makes us a BETTER, STRONGER AND WISER PEOPLE...i've learned a lot through my situation seriously, i;ve really learned to appreciate the simple things in life and always be thankful to the small, little blessings!

BE THANKFUL and learn how to appreciate what you have! please don't feel sorry for yourself, we should keep FIGHTIN for our DREAMS!

To God be the glory!
