All you DREAM fans living in Senator Orrin Hatch's home state of Utah, please let me know where you are so we can connect and do more to help people here become aware of this important topic. We have a growing Latino population, yet so many residents here have no idea what these families are going through. I spoke to the server at Taco Time yesterday, found out he brought his family here from Paraguay to have a better life, and his 3 kids are straight A students. He's very aware of the DREAM Act, and works hard for his family so his children will have more career choices than he has had. Please contact me! Thanks so much.

Hi
I have also noticed how hard it is to find people that know about or support this cause in Utah. So it's nice to hear from you! I'm an undocumented student attending college in Salt Lake City, unfortunately due to the lack of diversity in this beautiful state it is almost impossible to find people that are willing to talk about this issue.

Hi ShikaGio,

Welcome to the DREAM Portal, and thanks for replying! I live in Spanish Fork, so I'm a bit south of you, but it was so good to find someone from Utah. I see that you're a really new member, so I want to welcome you again and hope that you find good friends and support in this great group of people. Can you share something about your background? I grew up in Los Angeles but have lived in Utah for a long time now, teaching special needs kids. What school are you attending in Salt Lake?
Hope to visit with you again!

I believe DreamBaybeh is from Utah, just do a search (aka stalk her)

If you think it's hard to find Dreamies in Utah try finding gays (those who haven't been stoned to death)...

Hey Friends
I am from Pocatello, ID, its about 2 hours from slc. If you think Utah is bad in supporting the Dream Act, Idaho is worse!!
Let me know if anything comes up .

HAI!!! Here I am! So excited to find that there's someone from freaking Utah here! Yes I will definitely be PMing you. I haven't been on the site for a while (finals start soon) so I'm definitely glad I stopped by today.

And Angeleno, there are SOME gays here. I have a friend who's getting married in the summer :/ Don't know how that's gonna happen. And also Kathy Griffin came to Utah last week, so yes she definitely has an audience here (I was unaware of this before her show actually). AND Elton John is having a concert here in February. So there is a litttle bit of a gay community here.

Hi Angeleno,

Thanks a lot for letting me know about DreamBaybeh! She sent me a PM, so now I know 3 DAP members from Utah (and me, of course!). Poco a poco.....
Happy holidays!!!

Hi iamLB,

I know where Pocatello is, and have been there a few times. It sounds like you're not there anymore. Are you going to school somewhere else now? Idaho gets a pretty bad reputation because of all the skinheads and militants that have moved there from other states. But there are still good people there; they just need to be informed and get to know others of diverse cultures. Growing up as a Latina in East Los Angeles, I learned that it was hard for "anglos" to stay prejudiced when they knew Latinos personally. It's kind of like demolishing a brick wall by removing one brick at a time; and each brick that's removed can be used to build something that connects people instead of separating them.
Happy Holidays!
