Two questions one of which i posted as a reply on another thread but never received a reply (deals with leaving the country).
Education Question:
Has anyone here ever applied to a "CSTEP" program? All they require is a social (i have one, came here early 90's when they gave socials with stamps not valid w/o work) and some regular information. I checked the application, it says to list country or birth, and if perm. resident to give the #, since i dont have one, i would just put my original country or birth. It also asks for social (which i use for everything so i dont think thats a problem, even to pay taxes) and besides that...the eligibility requirements say you have to be a resident of the state, fulltime college student, and show economically disadvantaged through taxes (which i can show with tax return obviously)...would this pose any problems for me? as in would they ask to see any "papers" ?
Leaving Question:
I know of someone who wants to leave the country. They overstayed a visa here and had a denied asylum and deportation before they were 16 years of age. Now they are much older, and want to leave. What happens exactly when leaving? How does this 10 year ban get placed (keep in mind, person came as a child so was never finger printed, way before 9/11)...I have heard that when LEAVING, they dont check you...but they only check when ENTERING...is there truth to this? Can anyone give me the breakdown of what happens the minute you try to go to the airport with the passport of your original country?
Also this persons passport DOES have where he/she is located in the US meaning the address...any chance if they do leave and are fingerprinted/checked, that the feds would try to check out this address? or would they really not care....anyone?
Lastly, sorry if these questions have showed up before, i honestly made an attempt to search and have not found the proper answers.
