Can anyone give me any advice on their experience with obtaining either an ID or a a DL in New Mexico? I will be attempting to do this soon, but I have no idea what to expect. How did you guys prove your New Mexico residency, and did the workers give you any trouble for anything? Please let me know how your experience went, and please offer me any advice if you can.

Thanks

Yes, you need to have proof of residency, and enrol in the college or university and two bills power and cable or similar. My daughter just moved there from Florida and she is undocumented she got a driving license for 8 years. She has no ITIN or SS.

I should add, everyone there is wonderful, they do not bat an eyelid when you openly tell them you are undocumented.

Sadly my daughter was alone there and decided after a few months she was homesick, again same old problems ... not able to work and integrate, but she did get in school tuition rates for 6 credits at UNM and 6 credits at the college. So if anyone wants to rent an apartment I have one empty.. furnished.

Thank you all for the advice. I was able to get the license. One question, how long does it usually take to arrive in the mail?
