is there anyone here who can tell me anything about receiving scholarships from this school? considering i can't get federal or state financial aid?
or maybe if you have info about any other school in texas, it might help.

Refer to the site above like deftbeta recommended.
If you qualify as Texas resident, you can apply for state aid.
TEXAS grant and TPEG is the one that you'll likely to get.
But make sure you follow the priority deadline!!

Why can't you receive state financial aid? If you're a HB1403 student, you should at least qualify, based on your parents income levels. You'd need to fill out the TAFSA and turn it in (in person) to the Welcome Center on campus.

I can't stress this enough - make sure you turn it in as early as possible. Last year I turned it in later in the filing period, and they told me they exhausted their funds.

UH's new policy (at least what I was told) is that they no longer give university scholarships to students who are not citizens or permanent residents, but you may qualify for scholarships within your specific department, so that's also worth a try.
