Friendly Banks:

Wells Fargo
Bank of America

I have an account with WF and it was relatively easy to open an account with them they just ask for an ID (i gave them my mexican consulate id card) and a SSN or ITIN number and voila!

I'm so glad to have this because I can save money, do online bill pay etc.

Just thought i would share that.

The social security number/ITIN is the major sticking point for most here.

I got one at Chase (when it was still WAMU). They asked for the info/ID. I gave them my Mexican Consulate card, school ID and my ITIN. They didnt hesitate one bit to open an account.

Same story for me and my entire family I don't know if Chase has changed its policies, but when it was WAMU it was painless to get an account. After doing a search online it seems like some schools have advised their international students to get accounts in Chase because it's possible to do it with an ITIN.

I don't think you can use their online application though, you have to go in and do it in person.

I have a college checking/savings account with Wells Fargo.
I got it through my school because our school connects our school ID with WF account.
For my ID, I showed them my expired passport.
They just took down the passport number and told me to tell them when I renew my passport.
It was fairly easy, it only took me like 10 minutes to fill out the application.
