I want to go get a Mexican passport in Sacramento ,but I don't know what I need. I have gotten their Matricula ( which I hid once I got it since it screams "Undocumented") from them before.

I am confused on what I need.

siguientes documentos:
-a) copia certificada del Acta de Nacimiento Mexicana; o
-b) Certificado de Nacionalidad; o
-c) Carta de Naturalización; o
-d) Declaración de Nacionalidad Mexicana por Nacimiento about the passport.

I have the first one but I don't think I have B or D. I obviously don't have C ,so how did you guys that have a Mexican passport get one ?

I think you only need one of those. The birth certificate should be enough to prove Mexican citizenship.

Honeybuns, you only need one of the above. The "o" after each listed item isn't just for decoration. It translates to "or".

As in a one way ticket back home? I don't really know. That's a good question.

of course you should be able to use it to fly back to Mexico -- isn't that what a passport is for? What stamp would you need - you are a Mexican citizen.

I need to renew my expired passport. I've called the consulate numerous times and they keep telling me that I need a "credencial de elector" or a driver's license, or a school ID. I don't have any of those, since I've been here since I was a kid. So they told me that I need to get my transcripts from HS with my picture on it. But the last time I called, a woman told me that I can use my expired passport as a form of ID.

What have you guys used? Has anybody had to get transcripts in order to renew their passport? I don't know what I showed them back in 05, when my first passport was issued. I finally found someone to take me to the consulate tomorrow and I need to figure this out asap.

Thanks.

When I went to go get my passport there were people who had their transcripts from HS. I wasn't sure for what but I am guessing that was an approved form of ID now that you are mentioning this.

Just to let you guys know, if you need information on passports and want to contact a Mexican consulate in the US, don't call the 877 number. Instead, call the consulate directly. I attempted to renew my passport today at the Orlando consulate and they told me that the operators at that number are in Mexico and don't know wtf they are talking about half the time. =/

When I went to the consulate in GA to get my passport to take my GRE I only needed my birth certificate and my matricula. However, my sister recently went a consulate in CA and they asked for the same things, plus a letter or card verifying address, which I didn't get that. On top of that they kept her birth certificate which is bullshit. If anyone ever goes to a consulate don't let them have your birth certificate that proves your existence and its a pain in the ass to order a new one.
