"Although the 17-year-old Gladys Castro carries a 4.09 grade-point average and has been accepted to the university, she cannot apply for government loans because she's an illegal immigrant and doesn't have a Social Security number. When she was 8 years old, her family fled the crime and violence of their hometown in Jalisco, Mexico."

sorry, one shouldn't have more than 4.0 gpa when some people have an actual ceiling of 4.0 is 4.3 more like a 3.8?

How is it good news when CIR is not going anywhere this year?

Dude this is so sad. I know there are a lot more who will have this happen to them or have already had it happen, until DREAM passes, so to all you DREAMies who are/will be in the same situation, I'm sorry, but we will get this.

4.0+ Gpa and you need to ask government for money? Seriously? Apply to private scholarships, UC's should not be that much compared to other schools since they are public.

There are a lot of scholarship opportunities everywhere you look, people just dont take advantage.
