THIS IS THE MOMENT. We can be everything we want to be. I want to ask you Dreamer if you are really willing to do it all to stop being a dreamer and become a doer?

I propose to all of you to be willing to give up something in order to get something.
I propose to all of you to let all the senators, the president, and everyone that needs to know it that we are more than willing to join this amazing country's military at any given second they approve the Dream Act. We, the hundreds of thousands undocumented students will enlist.

and if you prefer to be a pussycat, then you don't desserve to qualify. Do you guys have any idea where in the first place the civil rights movement begin? That's right in the military. Right there they open the doors to an African American President.

So wtf you suggesting? That we all be forced to join military? Just so you know, there are OTHER ways to help and serve this country other than joining military. Where do you think the money that supports our military comes from? Where do you think all that advancements in our military technology come from? We can all serve our great nation by doing many other things and that just goes out to say that military service isn't the ONLY option, rather it's one of many.

Only wars I'll think of fighting will be in Gears of War, Halo Wars, or CS all taking place in my PC.

first of all lol.

Ok, by joining you don't have to go fight the war directly, I hope you know that. I don't meant to be rude but the military covers great amounts of fields and I am guessing you're a female, def don't think you're going to go die in Iraq right away. So you can wtf all you want but this world is not of ppl who fear it but of those that go out there and take risks.

Got that right... not to mention fighting in a war I don't believe in (or contributing to it) . I'd rather go back home than have to join the military here. I can't judge someone for joining, but I personally would never enlist.

Sure, I think you should start by signing up to go fight in Iraq and tell us what it's like. Then maybe we'll follow, maybe...

Unfortunately, the military has never garnered my interest. I'm looking forward to the DREAM Act's education plan. Anyways this is a thread with the right idea, but it's also a bit tedious; I think we're past that point where we're trying to get people motivated to help. I'm sure a lot of people (including you and me) are doing and trying to help the DREAM Act pass anyways. However, again, I'll repeat that I won't be joining the miltary for any reason.

P.S. To me, joining the miltary would be a waste of time. I just want to quickly finish my BA then enter a PhD/MD program. If I had to waste a few years in the military even with my grades, I'd be upset and would rather find another path, as PhD/MD programs take 6-8 years anyways.. Luckily the DREAM Act has two options... If you're telling us to strictly mail them about our military support, then I'm assuming that you're trying to appeal to Scott Brown?

Till then, don't start preaching and telling others what they should do. The last thing some of us want to do is to fight a pointless war that is clearly without a cause (I'm talking about Iraq here). It sounds like you have no military experience and hasn't seen what war is really like up front and personal. So don't talk others into it when you, yourself, don't know squat

There are other ways to take risks. If you want to take a bullet for this country that has been oppressing you all these years than go ahead. I know that the military offers different fields but none are for me
