An outspoken group of undocumented immigrants, who have met twice with senior White House advisor Valerie Jarrett to discuss the need for immigration reform, say the administration has rejected a request for an executive order to halt deportations of students who came to the U.S. illegally as young children.

Its pretty obvious they want to get rid of as many people as they can before a reform. Their not fooling anyone.

Administration officials say Obama remains committed to comprehensive immigration reform, including relief for students like Matos and Roa, but is not willing to compromise those efforts by pursuing an incremental legislative approach or what would likely be a controversial executive order.
“The stories of these students are one more example of why we can no longer wait to fix our broken immigration system,” one administration official said. “That’s why the President has reached out to Republicans in the Senate to urge them to work with him on comprehensive immigration reform, and his Administration continues to work with the sponsors of the immigration reform proposal in the Senate to turn it into a bill.”
What has resulted from him reaching to republicans on immigration reform? I can't stand the Obama administration!!

So it is "the window for achieving CIR before 2012 is closing"??????????? So, they will do enforcement for the first 4 years of his presidency, and then try to pass something after 2012.

1) Lots of people will age out of DREAM
2) Even if "deferred" action is granted; it just means that you won't get arrested and handcuffed and physically deported by ICE agents. It doesn't erase your deportation order from the justice department. They are still studying granting "blanket" indefinite deferred action. But if they don't and your deferred action is up in six months or a year, and you HAVE to leave, you are banned for at least 10 years.
3) They cannot be trusted on their word because they have backed out of it year after year, event after event. And I tell you this oil spill isn't being handled at all, and if it doesn't get controlled, Obama is looking at ONE term only. He takes his base for granted. His one term is up and oops, they just couldn't manage to pass reform.

Now, the Democratic party leadership - Reid, Schumer, Durbin, Pelosi, Napolitano- they need to become famous. Really famous. Republican-style famous if you know what I mean. No one in the Spanish language TV media mentions that they are holding CIR hostage and playing along with the White House. The average immigrant and his/her family think lack of immigration reform is the Republicans' fault, but that isn't true when it didn't stop Dems from passing healthcare or financial reform. Where there's a will, there's a way. They simply don't see the urgency of reform. So let's make them famous.

By 2012, there will hardly be anybody left to grant citizenship to. Maybe that is what they are calculating--that the problem will solve itself.

Anyway, this would be such a small and trifling thing to do to demonstrate some sort of sympathy with DREAMers. It is just pathetic.

But this is the record of George W. Obama--or Barack H. Bush?--on immigration reform for the last two years so what else could we have expected?

Even without the oil spill, they would've found something else to blame
