Well im done with High School...Top Ten in my class and near perfect scores in all state tests. I was too afraid-shy about applying for scholarship, bacause im was legal, I would have gotten like nothing, now im here clueless on what to do!!!!! I wanna go to college but I cant afford it not even Community College, I always studied hard its really crazy how alone and hopeless I feel. Im in Laredo, TX by the way if theres any dreamer here that could help me Id apprecite it because ive been so deppressed lately with suicidal thoughts and I just dont want to give up

I am not from TX but I do believe that you can get at least instate tuition. I recommend looking into community college for two years. If you have means to pay for it it should not be expensive. Good luck!

Yo, there is TAFSA if you live in Texas. You also get in state tuition. You should've applied to private universities. I am sure that you would've probably gotten in. But regardless, good luck. I am from TX, and even though I don't study here, I can offer you a bunch of info on several options. PM me if you want.

You could still make the deadline for some scholarships out there. Do a search for scholarships on the forum, you can probably find some useful information. Also if you don't think you have the time or money to apply to any schools right now, you could put it off for a semester or a year, until you have the funding.

Try a private University.
I went to Baylor in Waco TX.
There I was able to obtain scholarships (grade dependent), grants (grade dependent), a part time job (must obtain paper from ss office as to why you cant get a ss YET), and zero interest loans (grade dependent). You can talk to the financial aid office at 1800BaylorU, and they can give you the full 411 on the const, and aid available to you. They dont care that u are an international student resident of Texas.

Thats one option. the other is;

Apply to UTSA (or any UT affiliated school that is semi cheap, and has easy credit transfer to UT Austin) attend part time. Talk to the finacial aid office and see what options you have, I know you can at least get some grants.
Get a part time job "pulga". in this way you could at least be moving forward with your life.

don't know if UT still has the top ten you're a shoe-in law, but if it does they have a pretty good program for ppl in our situation. You are eligible for state grants if you're top ten and in our status.
