Why not call senate offices and ask them what their position is on the Dream Act?

You don't have to harass, threaten or bully. Just ask a simple question and get an answer.

This might dovetail well with the advocacy project on this site, and we can get direct, verifiable info straight out of the horses mouth.

Just a suggestion for those who have a lot of spare time on their hands, a cell phone with long distance, some bravery and motivation.

What about using our research that has already been done? Or would you want it to be "updated"?

I think the research is awesome as it is. I participated in some of it. However, I had to depend on sources that were less than clear- legislator websites, past voting history, even wikipedia.

It's awesome as is, and gives a good picture of the general position of the legislators. But phone calls could provide up-t0-the-minute, highly accurate reflections on what the legislators are up to.

Maybe the senator supports the DREAM Act, but intends to support it only in the lame duck session, for instance- you could never find that out by checking his website, but giving his office a call, you could find out a lot.

Could be worth a try if people are sitting on their hands and don't have anything to do.

Hm. We could do what you propose and then post the results in the research.

I suggest that we concentrate our efforts on calling the senators who are on the fence. Please refer to the following list of potential supporters for Dream Act.
