■ As of 2008, 30.3 percent of blacks in the United States between the ages of 25 and 34 have obtained an associate’s degree or higher.

■ As of 2008, 19.8 percent of Hispanics in the United States between the ages of 25 and 34 have obtained an associate’s degree or higher.

■ As of 2008, 70.7 percent of Asians in the United States between the ages of 25 and 34 have obtained an associate’s degree or higher.
I feel bad for Hispanics; they were the force behind Dream Act, but Asians with a 70.7% college graduation rate stand to gain the most from Dream Act.

If/when DREAM gets passed, eligible hispanic youth will have much more access to higher education. Hopefully, we'll see the number of college graduates increase!

i have 2 things to point out to you:

1. obviously, you are one of the ones without college graduation based on your conceptual understanding of math. there are millions more hispanics than asians living in the US. you see more activism done by "hispanics" because there are simply dominantly more hispanics than asians. i wouldnt be surprised if 19.8% of hispanics outnumber 70.7% of asians in pure numbers. know your math.

2. why do you feel "bad"? do you feel like hispanics alone are somehow entitled to DREAM Act by themselves and no other ethnicity? there are countless asians, africans, and europeans fighting for the DREAM Act.

cant believe this guy is trying to turn this into another race issue. ITS DREAM ACT. freakin unbelievable.

how many of those Asians are Asian-American or Documented or Undocumented? We the dreamers have everything against us and yet a large number of us are graduating so those numbers don't mean anything. If dream act passes I'm sure our percentage ( Hispanics ) will rise to more than 50% all we need is for congress to open the door we will do the rest.

I am hispanic, it's quite obvious that hispanics are not the smartest people out there on AVERAGE (that's the keyword here). Asians see value in education. Hispanics are battling african americans for the poorest ethnicity according to the census. We have not been productive on AVERAGE (that's the keyword here). Not surprising that Asians are so high.

You make really good points, true points. The fact is this post shouldn't even exist, what does it matter if a higher percentage of Asians obtain college degrees? It doesn't, we are all in this together and shouldn't look at who will "benefit the most" from DREAM Act. I am Hispanic and I would like to ask Immigrant, why do you think there is a lower percentage of the Hispanic youth that obtain a college degree? I don't know if you were at the DREAM Mobilization in D.C. last week, but Hispanics well outnumbered other races, but that doesn't mean only we are fighting for DREAM and it was only because Hispanics are in this country in higher numbers. I am Hispanic and I know my people and a lot, not all, but a lot do not care about education. So we can't "feel" bad for a lower percentage of Hispanics benefiting from DREAM. Please take off that stupid sad face off of this post. Let's not derail this train and racially divide this movement. BTW DreaMseq2010 I am directing this to Immigrant. The starter of this thread.

I really am though...lol

There's just a lto more hispanics that asians that's why or percentage is so much higher.

When DREAM passes some hispanics would have better motivation to get a degree.

Why does it have to be between Asian and Hispanic ? There are undocumented blacks too :// So according to the statistics, blacks would be a bigger beneficiary from Dream Act than Hispanics ! WRONG ! The statistics is misleading ! The statistics documents the percentage of LEGAL people who have a degree. The LEGAL people did not go through the hardships like we DREAMers do.

Also, education is not the only pathway to get legal status under the Dream Act. Military is another option too.

This article is so divisive and should not be here at the first place !
