Hey guys

Can you give me examples of work i can do to support myself to college?? I know alot of jobs require an SS# but I heard that alot of people are getting paid under the table. I just want to know what jobs are usually available to an undocumented student? also is it possible to use somebody's SSN like my grampa's but still maintain my identity (name ) ? please help thanks

The place where I work does ask for SSN but like most of us, I had to use a fake one and they didn't bother checking it though and they have even given me dental insurance and paid vacation lol

as far as under the table goes, I'm not sure how safe that is? I mean the people could take advantage of you and decide not to pay you and you wouldnt be able to do anything about it so IDK if I would ever work under the table like that

Well, my old job was working in a really nice hip clothing store/hair salon it has been so far the BEST job I have ever had. My boss was cool, very pretty and very respectful about my situation. She knew about my status and didn't mind at all. She did paid me under the table, to bad the economy crashed because she had to close down the store. I worked there for 4yrs. Now I work at a dental office as a receptionist but, they don't know my status. So as you can imagine, I also use a fake SS... not good but, oh well, they never checked it.

I wouldn't because you could get in trouble for identity theft. You would be using someone's SSN with knowledge that it belongs to somebody. Even if your grandpa says it's okay, it's illegal.

People use fake social security numbers, usually without any repercussions. Just make sure you don't get caught with fake docs or you could get in BIG trouble.

And using your ITIN to work is illegaly (not that having a fake SSN is legal :P) so I wouldn't use it. Plus, a lot of people are aware that real SSNs don't begin with an 8 or a 9, so they might question you about it.

Where are you from? I think the best chance to find a job is to find it within your immigrant community.
